The Journal of Contemporary East Asian Studies is an academic journal focusing on political, economic, social and cultural phenomena in East Asia. This journal may cover in-depth analysis and commentary on contemporary East Asian countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries within the region, including the study of their domestic and foreign policies, regional cooperation, economic development patterns, social changes, and cultural exchanges.
The journal may have a special focus on international relations and geopolitics in East Asia, exploring how regional and external forces affect stability and development in the region. In addition, the journal may publish scholarly articles on East Asian economic integration, regional trade agreements, investment flows, and technology transfer, providing insights into the region's complex economic interactions. Socio-cultural, the journal may include research on East Asian social structure, cultural identity, education systems, media and communication, and social policy. It may encourage an interdisciplinary approach to research, combining theoretical and empirical research in areas such as history, sociology, political science, economics, and cultural studies.
